What you will do

  • Lead the management and optimization of retail protection products (life, critical illness, and income protection).
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and regulatory activity to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Marketing, and Reinsurers to maintain commercially sound and customer-centric products.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, including value-for-money reviews and performance monitoring.
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers and agile team members.
  • Own product risk management covering regulatory, operational, and conduct considerations.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of life, critical illness, and income protection products across their entire lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of the UK protection market and its regulatory environment.
  • Proven experience managing both on-sale and legacy protection products.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with the ability to create data-led business cases.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and insight for decision making.
