TL;DR

Claim Operational Team Leader (Insurance): Leading a team within the Motor First Party Claims function specializing in accidental damage with an accent on people-focused leadership and operational efficiency. Location: Liverpool, UK (Office-based with hybrid options). Must have at least one year remaining on Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; no visa sponsorship provided.

Salary: £35,948 - £39,050 plus annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Lead and coach a team of first party claims handlers to meet and exceed performance measures.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and objective setting for team members.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture focused on accountability, growth, and quality coaching.
  • Support employee wellbeing, manage absences, and handle HR matters such as probation and improvement plans.
  • Champion continuous improvement and process efficiency within the department.
  • Interpret MI and use data to monitor claim quality and drive overall performance.

Requirements

  • Essential people management experience.
  • Proven ability to positively influence team members through trust and respect.
  • Strong, confident communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and endorse company behaviours and values.
  • Must be based in or able to work from Liverpool.
  • Valid UK work authorization (at least one year remaining on Graduate/Post-Study Work visa; no sponsorship available).

  • Previous motor claims experience.
