What you will do

• Manage and motivate a team of Claims Underwriters handling property claims up to £100,000 in value.
• Coach and develop team members to improve both technical claims handling and soft skills.
• Monitor and exceed key performance indicators, including settlement speed, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and quality audits.
• Act as the primary point of referral for underwriters and the escalation point for customer complaints.
• Ensure fair, prompt, and empathetic settlement of claims while keeping customers and brokers informed.
• Contribute to the overall UK Claims strategy and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar leadership role within the insurance industry.
• Track record of putting the customer at the heart of service delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish credibility with colleagues, underwriters, and brokers.
• Proven ability to motivate teams, develop high performers, and manage under-performance.
• Dip CII or Dip CILA qualification, or currently working towards achieving it.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from Colchester
