Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Shape the architecture of data products built for analytics and data science, including forecasting and feature engineering.
• Lead data transformation processes and establish best practices in data modelling, performance optimisation, and governance.
• Build reusable tooling and frameworks to empower teams to ingest, store, and serve data products.
• Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to refine data requirements and enhance infrastructure.
• Experiment with new technologies and open-source tools to maintain a cutting-edge tech stack.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Python with a focus on clean, production-grade code and software engineering best practices.
• Experience building batch and distributed data processing systems and near real-time streaming pipelines (Kafka, Flink, or Spark).
• Proficiency with RDBMS and data warehousing, including the ability to design business-centric data models.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ability to thrive in a culture of ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Data Quality and Data Governance practices.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures (Medallion, Lambda, Kappa) and modelling (Star Schema, OBT).
• Experience building data platforms in AWS using S3, Glue, or Athena.
• Exposure to MLOps, feature engineering, or data analysis.
