Principal Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the design and build-out of cross-product data services from a single governed data plane.
• Define the customer data plane model, including canonical identifiers, shared dimensions, and consistent facts.
• Build and operationalize ingestion patterns for batch, streaming, and event data.
• Own the operational playbook for data reliability, focusing on data contracts, quality checks, and incident response.
• Design high-performance data models for both operational systems (RDS) and analytics stores (columnar/OLAP).
• Deliver governed data products to power ML workflows and enable AI automation.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and operating production data platforms at scale.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for building pipelines and automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud systems on AWS and Google Cloud (IaaS level).
• Expertise in data modeling, schema evolution, and lakehouse patterns.
• Experience with production orchestration and streaming systems for batch and real-time data.
• Familiarity with ML data needs, including training/serving splits and feature-ready datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience building self-service data platforms with catalogs and access controls.
• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
