Weekend English Tutor

TL;DR

Weekend English Tutor (EAP): Deliver high-quality teaching in English Language and English for Academic Purposes, designing engaging learning materials and supporting student progression with an accent on lectures, seminars, and assessments. Focus on monitoring engagement, providing feedback, and contributing to programme quality and continuous improvement.

Location: On-campus at all London campuses (Holborn, Great Titchfield Street, Wembley, Kingsbury, Southall). Must be flexible to travel between campuses. Part-time, 24 hours per week over three days including Saturday and Sunday. Start: August/September 2026.

What you will do

• Teach lectures, seminars, and tutorials across allocated English modules.
• Develop and update teaching materials while maintaining accurate student attendance.
• Design assessments, provide formative feedback, and mark summative work to deadlines.
• Monitor student engagement and signpost academic or pastoral support.
• Contribute to module evaluations, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
• Engage in scholarship, collaborate on curriculum development, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes in higher or further education
• Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., DELTA, Trinity Diploma, CELTA with experience, MA TESOL/Linguistics)
• Strong communication, organisational, and digital skills (VLEs, Microsoft tools)
• Understanding of CEFR and experience supporting diverse learners' academic development
• Ability to work effectively in teams and across multiple sites
• Commitment to high academic standards and widening participation

Nice to have

• Experience with curriculum development, research, or scholarly activity
• Familiarity with digital assessment tools, data tracking, or UKVI processes
• Academic team leadership or involvement in professional bodies
