Head of Learner Experience (Edtech)

TL;DR

Head of Learner Experience (Edtech): Designing and optimizing end-to-end learner journeys for AI and data apprenticeship portfolios with an accent on commercial product design and regulatory compliance. Focus on improving learner outcomes, such as completion rates and CSAT, and ensuring all programs are Ofsted-ready and employer-relevant.

Location: Home based, UK (with occasional travel to the London office)

What you will do

• Own the learner experience strategy across the AI and data apprenticeship portfolio to ensure programs are designed around actual learning patterns.
• Drive iterative content review based on CSAT, NPS, and delivery insights to continuously improve program quality.
• Ensure all curriculum documentation is compliant with ESFA funding rules and remains Ofsted inspection-ready.
• Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of Learner Experience Product Managers and Learning Designers.
• Collaborate with the Chief AI Officer and Engineering team to keep curriculum content at the cutting edge of AI and data practice.
• Partner with Sales and Client Success to translate employer needs into curriculum design decisions that drive satisfaction and renewal.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK.
• Proven experience in curriculum design and development within the UK apprenticeship sector, ideally in AI, data, or digital skills.
• Deep knowledge of ESFA funding rules, apprenticeship standards (KSBs), Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, and EPA processes.
• Track record of managing and developing teams of curriculum or learning design professionals.
• Strong understanding of applied, work-based learning pedagogy to ensure programs are used in the workplace.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements to stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with L3/L4/L5/L6 apprenticeship standards in the AI and data landscape.
• Familiarity with LMS, portfolio systems, or AI-powered feedback tools.
• Teaching or coaching qualification such as PGCE, AET, CAVA, or TAQA.
• Experience in a fast-growing, commercially-driven training provider environment.
