Focus on optimizing AOSP/AAOS stacks, resolving complex memory leaks and deadlocks, and bridging the gap between technical execution and business goals.

Location: Remote (US). If living within a 50-mile radius of Mountain View, CA, reporting to the office three times per week is required.

Salary: $238,700 - $302,200

What you will do

• Define the Android platform engineering strategy for the GM Infotainment system and provide technical direction.
• Lead technical solutions for critical Android platform features and drive execution across internal and external teams.
• Optimize software design, resolve performance issues, memory leaks, and deadlocks.
• Ensure solutions meet architectural requirements for scalability, reliability, extensibility, and security.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and IT teams to make system-level design trades.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers and present technical strategies to executive management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Embedded software development and SDLC.
• 5+ years of experience with Android AOSP or AAOS stacks, including framework layers and system components.
• Product engineering experience with Android, Linux, QNX, or other RTOS systems.
• Strong knowledge of SoC architecture (CPU, GPU, NPU, memory, I/O interfaces).
• Proficiency in Java, C++, C, and operating systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive-related infotainment solutions.
• Knowledge of Inter ECU communications and stringent timing requirements.
• 15+ years of experience in Embedded software development.
