Assistant Program Manager (Battery Packs)

TL;DR

Assistant Program Manager (Battery Packs): Supporting planning, execution, and delivery of battery pack development programs with an accent on cross-functional team facilitation and program documentation. Focus on leading forums, managing integrated timing plans, tracking deliverables, and architecting leadership presentations for gate reviews.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan – expected to report to office at least 3 times a week. No immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.). No relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Provide indirect leadership by developing agendas and facilitating Program Execution Team (PET), Change Review Board (CRB), and Product Readiness Team (PRT) forums, including initial PSQRR gate reviews.
• Maintain project documentation, minutes, action items, progress reports, and timelines; establish plan for every part in eTracktool and manage part-level countermeasures and risks.
• Track program deliverables, drive accountability, manage Integrated Timing Plan, and escalate issues to Program Manager.
• Architect comprehensive leadership presentations for program gate reviews, coordinating inputs from cross-functional areas.
• Serve as backup to Program Manager and handle special assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle/product development and launches
• High level of independent judgment, analytical ability, and problem-solving in ambiguity
• Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments
• GM does not provide immigration sponsorship; must have work authorization without company support

Nice to have

• Program management experience
• Familiarity with automotive industry functions (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)
