Systems Signal Integrity Engineer (Hardware): Supporting the system-level signal integrity design, analysis and validation for data center products with an accent on high-speed SerDes and electrical-optical-electrical signaling interfaces. Salary: $147,400 – $272,100

What you will do

• Perform pathfinding studies during the silicon development phase to provide feedback on system integration tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with System Design teams to establish detailed SI strategies and guidelines during design execution.
• Work with HW Validation teams to develop and execute test-suites for evaluating design margins on signal paths.
• Provide end-to-end SI support from initial pathfinding and verification through production and ramp.
• Analyze high-speed SerDes and electrical-optical-electrical signaling interfaces deployed in data center products.

Requirements

• M.S. Degree with relevant industry-level work experience.
• Strong familiarity with Signal Integrity for high-speed SerDes, parallel buses, and single-ended signaling.
• Knowledge of electrical-optical-electrical interfaces.
• Ability to execute channel analysis using Signal Integrity EDA tools.
• Measurement expertise with frequency and time domain tools (VNA, TDR) and calibration methods.
• Must be based in or able to work from Cupertino, CA or Austin, TX, USA.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. with 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Deep knowledge of transmitter and receiver equalization (FFE, CTLE, DFE, VGA), CDR behaviors, and link training.
• Experience with optical links including MZM modulation, optical cables, PIN, TIA, and redrivers/retimers.
• Expertise in specifications for PCIe, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt.
