Youth Success Specialist Intern (Education)

TL;DR

Youth Success Specialist Intern (Education): Supporting the delivery of academic, social-emotional, and enrichment services for refugee and immigrant youth with an accent on mentorship and tutoring. Focus on facilitating virtual sessions, developing educational resources, and helping students navigate the US school system.

Location: Hybrid in Baltimore, MD, USA. Must be able to travel regularly throughout Baltimore.

What you will do

• Facilitate virtual tutoring and mentoring sessions via Zoom.
• Support outreach, scheduling, and communication with youth participants and volunteer mentors.
• Develop and share educational resources and content aligned with program goals.
• Monitor virtual sessions to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Track attendance and perform basic data entry and documentation for program evaluation.
• Collaborate with staff to identify and respond to the needs of youth participants.

Requirements

• Availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle with insurance for regular travel throughout Baltimore.
• Fluency in English required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Zoom, and Canva).
• Interest or prior experience working with refugees, immigrants, social work, or education.

Nice to have

• Bilingual ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base.
