Staff Software Engineer (Backend/Integrations): Driving the technical architecture of complex, multi-system workflows to connect 's platform with HR tech stacks with an accent on OAuth flows, webhook event processing, and partner-facing APIs. Focus on designing scalable integrations, mentoring engineers, and eliminating redundancies across ATS, HRIS, and payroll platforms.
Location: Hybrid: Must work from the office 3 days a week in one of the hub locations: San Francisco, Denver, Nashville, or Santiago.
Salary: $224,000 - $264,000 USD

What you will do
- Own the full product lifecycle from ideation and design to implementation and release.
- Drive the technical architecture of complex workflows, including OAuth flows, webhook event processing, and partner-facing APIs.
- Lead technical initiatives to enable growth at scale and address organizational technical debt.
- Provide mentorship to engineers across the organization and spread development best practices through documentation.
- Collaborate with Design, Product, and Data teams to deploy experiments and ship impactful features.
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of the integration services.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience and 3+ years in a project leadership role.
- Deep expertise in backend development (e.g., Ruby, Node.js) and working proficiency in JavaScript and React.
- Experience building scalable systems with automated testing, observability, and high performance.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to a hub (San Francisco, Denver, Nashville, or Santiago) to work 3 days a week in-office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
