Salary: $185,000–$265,000 USD

• Design, build, and support cloud-native backend applications, services, and APIs to support business growth.
• Research and recommend commercial and open-source solutions to enhance technology capabilities.
• Enhance existing systems to improve performance, stability, quality, and security while managing technical debt.
• Maintain a user-centric mindset and build deep user empathy.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, machine learning, and platform engineering.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work onsite in San Francisco at least 3 times per week with relocation assistance available.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong Node.js backend specialization or rapid mastery of TypeScript/Node.
• Experience building and deploying complex backend systems using Temporal.
• Experience working in regulated environments with compliance knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST.
• Passion for engineering excellence, data, and architecture.

• Desire and ability to work in San Francisco or New York on a hybrid basis.
