Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Aerospace)

Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Aerospace): Developing tools and performing analysis for mechanical systems in military aircraft flight controls with an accent on finite element methods, vibration, fatigue, and gear analysis. Location: Hybrid – Torrance, CA (3 days/week in the office). Up to 25% travel. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 Annually (Torrance, CA)

What you will do

• Develop and lead strategically important engineering tools for organizational benefit.
• Improve group productivity through digital automation and technology roadmap implementation.
• Perform hands-on work across product lifecycle: conceptual design, detailed analysis, qualification testing investigations, and production troubleshooting.
• Create and review stress reports, internal memorandums, and production drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, Physics, or Math
• 2+ years of experience designing and analyzing components

Nice to have

• Experience with finite element methods, vibration analysis, fatigue evaluation, gear analysis, and closed-form solutions
• Experience writing code in Python or MATLAB
• Experience building applications using MATLAB App Designer
• Familiarity with ANSYS or other FEA tools
