Development Engineer

TL;DR

Development Engineer (Mechanical/Avionics): Define, redesign, support and certify new and existing avionics products with an accent on mechanical requirements, design, and integration with electrical systems. Focus on evaluating designs for conformance, resolving production issues, developing test fixtures, and managing engineering changes.

Onsite – Mineral Wells, TX. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000 Annually (Mineral Wells, TX)

What you will do

• Support creation and modification of mechanical requirements and design for new and existing products.
• Review customer requests and formulate conceptual designs to meet requirements.
• Evaluate product designs for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to define and implement hardware requirements.
• Investigate production issues, provide technical alternatives for material and manufacturing challenges.
• Design test fixtures for environmental testing and support engineering change management.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Three to five years’ experience in engineering, product testing, or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D parametric CAD software; drafting and design per ANSI Standards.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

• Design for Manufacturing experience.
• CAD/CAM, SolidWorks & Altium, or Electronic Design Architecture (EDA) experience.
• Understanding of quality processes and product safety documentation.
