Engineering Manager - Frontend (React/Next.js): Leading a frontend engineering organization comprising development and QA teams to evolve platforms like Rhino Play and Rhino Next with an accent on people leadership, architectural oversight, and delivery quality. Location: Hybrid (Malta, Bitola) or Remote. Must be based in Europe and work aligned with Central European Time (CET).

What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop ~12 frontend engineers and 4 frontend QA engineers across distributed locations.
- Shape the frontend architecture, specifically focusing on Next.js, SSR strategies, and performance optimization.
- Drive predictable delivery through clear goals, effective processes, and agile team rituals.
- Review complex technical designs and pull requests, acting as a technical gatekeeper for code quality.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend leadership to translate product priorities into technical plans.
- Oversee the release process and establish metrics for team health, velocity, and player-facing performance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building modern frontend applications with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of Next.js, including Server vs Client Components and SSR caching strategies.
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including hiring and performance management.
- Experience managing QA teams or implementing robust quality and automation practices.
- Must be based in Europe and able to work aligned with CET.
Nice to have
- Experience in iGaming, betting, or high-traffic applications.
- Knowledge of Node.js, multi-brand/tenant systems, or advanced performance tuning.
- Familiarity with service workers, Zod, or edge computing.
