What you will do

• Develop quality software for The Times as part of a cross-functional Ad Tech team.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to ensure technical implementations meet business requirements.
• Contribute to technical conversations and strategy under the guidance of a Principal Engineer.
• Mentor and coach junior team members to improve overall code quality.
• Implement and advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Agile practices.
• Participate in pair programming and continuous architectural improvements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in JavaScript with a focus on Functional Programming.
• Strong professional experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Enzyme, or Cypress.
• Experience using Agentic LLM tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
• Must be based in Bulgaria to support the hybrid/remote work arrangement.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and a strong passion for clean, maintainable code.

Nice to have

• Experience with WordPress, PHP, or modern WordPress practices.
• Background in advertising technology (Ad Tech) or experience with large publishers.
• Knowledge of Webpack, CircleCI, and AWS.
• Experience creating APIs and performance testing for high-traffic websites.
