UX Copywriter (Automotive)

TL;DR

UX Copywriter (Automotive): Defining the voice and clarity of textual touchpoints within digital cockpit experiences with an accent on intuitive, concise, and brand-aligned communication. Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week office-based in Gaydon, UK. Applicants must have valid eligibility to work full time in the UK.

What you will do

• Review and refine all text for in-vehicle digital interfaces including infotainment, clusters, and notifications.
• Produce user-centered copy for labels, CTAs, menus, error messages, and system prompts.
• Define warning messaging principles, guidance, and language standards.
• Establish and maintain scalable message libraries and copy patterns for consistency across platforms.
• Collaborate with interaction designers, HMI engineers, and product owners to enhance user experience.
• Optimize content using insights from user research, usability testing, and telematics data.

Requirements

• Expert command of the English language with impeccable grammar and clarity.
• Proven experience in UX writing or content design for digital interfaces, preferably embedded or hardware-related.
• Proficiency in using design and project tools such as Figma, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, design systems, and content patterns.
• Valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and ability to travel within the EU.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive or consumer electronics industries.
• Familiarity with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) best practices.
• Knowledge of HMI standards and accessibility principles.
• Ability to contribute to user research and testing activities.
