Combat Systems Engineer

TL;DR

Combat Systems Engineer (Naval Defence): Develop, integrate, and sustain mission-critical naval combat management systems across the full systems engineering lifecycle with an accent on requirements management, system architecture, and integration. What you will do

• Elicit, analyse, and manage combat system requirements with customers and end-users, maintaining traceability and documentation.
• Contribute to system architecture, design, integration, and change control for software-intensive combat systems.
• Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and support testing, validation, and preparation of technical reports.
• Engage stakeholders, resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and collaborate on technical working groups and demonstrations.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and hirify.global policies.

Requirements

• Australian citizen eligible for NV1 security clearance
• Up to 4 years’ experience in systems engineering (requirements management, architecture, integration, verification/validation)
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced defence environment

Nice to have

• Experience in defence or naval combat systems
• Familiarity with ASDEFCON practices
• Experience with DOORS or Cameo Systems Modeler
• Exposure to systems development and sustainment lifecycles
