Vehicle Systems Engineer (Automotive): Developing and validating steering, braking, and chassis systems from functional specifications through vehicle integration and customer delivery with an accent on system design, control techniques, testing, and safety requirements. Focus on evaluating simulation and test results, commissioning vehicle systems, leading technical documentation and quality activities, and building local expertise in collaboration with AVL's global community.
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden, with work at 's tech centre or as a Resident Engineer at customer sites in Sweden

What you will do
- Develop functional specifications for automotive steering, braking, chassis, and related vehicle systems.
- Integrate systems and functions into vehicle architectures.
- Create system design and validation plans and evaluate simulation and test results.
- Support system build, commissioning, testing, customer projects, and project deliveries.
- Review and release technical documentation and lead system and component quality documentation.
- Coordinate steering, braking, and chassis activities with the global community while building local capabilities and supporting business development.
Requirements
- M.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar discipline, or extensive vehicle system development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in steering, braking, or chassis development; SOP project experience is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of system design fundamentals, safety standards, and regulations.
- Experience with system tools, control technique design and implementation, testing, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Project management experience and a category B driving licence.
- Excellent English and Swedish communication and presentation skills are required for customer-site presentations.
Nice to have
- Experience with 3D/2D design tools such as CATIA V5/V6 or Creo.
- Experience in SOP projects.
