What you will do

• Process accounts payable activities, including online payments, wire transfers, and checks.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for cash and select investment accounts.
• Track and reconcile premiums earned and losses incurred using loss runs and premium statements.
• Manage the issuance of invoices for client captive insurance companies and prepare bank deposits.
• Draft monthly and quarterly journal entries to support the accounting close process.
• Assist in the preparation of domicile regulatory reports for client companies.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled Junior, Senior, or recent graduate with coursework in Accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles: accounting equation, dual entry, balance sheets, income statements, accruals, and revenue recognition.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Developing written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interest in insurance accounting.

Nice to have

• Previous accounting internship experience.
• Experience with financial accounting or general ledger software.
• Knowledge of the risk management or insurance industry.
