Supplier Quality Development Engineer

TL;DR

Supplier Quality Development Engineer (Manufacturing): Responsible for supplier quality development activities in USA and Mexico, including performing audits, supporting problem-solving, training on quality tools, and driving continuous improvement projects. Focus on sourcing and qualifying new suppliers, monitoring performance, reviewing PPAP documents, and deploying best manufacturing practices across the network.

Location: On-site in Brooklyn Park, MN. Travel up to 30-50% required. ITAR compliant: only open to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status. Individuals with temporary visas not eligible.

Salary: $69,500 - $92,700 a year

What you will do

• Support internal/external certification audits and MP audits to assess compliance and identify improvements.
• Follow up on audit findings, ensuring actions are addressed and closed on time.
• Assist MPs and sales with quality documentation for orders and improve order intake efficiency.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to source, select, qualify new suppliers per PLN standards.
• Monitor and drive supplier performance, maturation, quality targets, and problem-solving.
• Develop suppliers by implementing best practices for manufacturing consistency.
• Support new capabilities in technologies, materials, inspection, and post-processing.
• Design scalable processes for supplier management and make data-driven off-boarding recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical), physical Science, or related field.
• Understanding of quality systems and practices in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in similar role.
• Analytical, risk-based, data-driven approach to quality management.
• Experience in regulated environment.
• Ideally lead auditor for ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485.
• Experience with CNC machining and Injection Molding.

Nice to have

• 3DP and/or Sheet metal experience.
