Data Architect (Snowflake)

TL;DR

Data Architect (Snowflake/DBT): Designing and evolving the enterprise data architecture to power analytics and data-driven decision making with an accent on scalable data assets and semantic layers. Focus on migrating to a modern data lake platform and ensuring high data quality, performance, and governance.

Location: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday on-site) in Maple Plain, MN. Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or granted refugee/asylee status due to ITAR regulations.

Salary: $131,500 - $175,400 a year

What you will do

• Define and maintain the technical data architecture roadmap aligned with business and analytics strategy.
• Design and implement enterprise data models, schemas, and structures supporting analytical and reporting use cases.
• Architect and maintain semantic layers and reusable data assets to enable consistent self-service analytics.
• Lead the strategic migration to a modern data lake, including architecture design and integration patterns.
• Develop, test, and support data pipelines, transformations, and data access layers of moderate to high complexity.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and analysts while collaborating across disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing and supporting data architecture, data platforms, or analytics systems.
• 10+ years of experience with tools such as Snowflake, Airbyte, DBT, Domo, and Looker.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and analytical systems.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or refugee/asylee status; temporary visas are not eligible.
• Experience with version control systems and preference for Microsoft-based technology environments.

Nice to have

• Experience leading data platform or data lake migrations.
• Experience partnering directly with analytics and visualization teams.
• Exposure to data governance, data quality, or metadata management practices.
