TL;DR
Systems Engineer (Aerospace/UAV): Maintaining and refining system architecture for swarming UAVs and C2 software with an accent on requirements management, MBSE, and cross-disciplinary integration. Focus on translating operational requirements into technical specifications and ensuring system verification through HIL/SIL testing.
Location: Must be based in Oxnard, California, United States; must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual (ITAR compliance) and able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Salary: $145,000 - $200,000 + Equity

What you will do
- Maintain and refine system architecture, translating mission and operational requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Develop system requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and functional decomposition across aircraft subsystems.
- Lead cross-discipline integration across avionics, propulsion, structures, autonomy, and ground systems.
- Implement the digital thread for configuration management and perform system-level trade studies to drive architecture decisions.
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) integration testing and resolve anomalies.
- Coordinate verification plans and contribute to airworthiness and flight authorization documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience on aerospace, defense, or UAS platforms.
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML (e.g., Rhapsody, Cameo).
- Experience authoring and managing requirements using tools like Jama, Polarion, or JIRA.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Compliance with ITAR regulations (U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status).
Nice to have
- Background in flight control, avionics, or propulsion subsystem integration.
- Experience with ARP4754 or military airworthiness processes (MIL-HDBK-516).
- Active security clearance.
