Assistant General Counsel (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $190,000–$260,000 per year

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, vendor, and partnership contracts.
• Advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues across the full lifecycle of cybersecurity products.
• Partner with product, engineering, and security teams to identify and develop practical risk mitigations.
• Review marketing, advertising, and promotional materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Collaborate with privacy and security stakeholders on data use and confidentiality in commercial arrangements.
• Provide counsel to the Security team and internal stakeholders on legal and ethical business conduct.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission and good standing with at least one US state bar.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience in commercial transactions, technology, insurance, or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong ability to deliver practical, solutions-oriented advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment across different time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurtech, cybersecurity, SaaS, or financial services.
• Familiarity with privacy, data security, or marketing laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, TCPA).
• Prior in-house experience supporting growth-stage or technology-driven companies.
