Salary: $275,000 – $330,000

What you will do

• Serve as a primary legal advisor to C-level executives on power strategy and energy procurement for a growing global portfolio of data centers.
• Lead and negotiate complex power agreements, including PPAs, renewable energy sources, utility services, and interconnection contracts.
• Negotiate directly with utilities, energy providers, and strategic partners across domestic and international markets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in finance, real estate, and government affairs to execute scalable energy solutions.
• Advise on regulatory frameworks, including PUC and FERC rules, and coordinate responses to power sector legislation.
• Manage outside counsel and budgets for specialized energy and infrastructure legal matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of experience in law firms or in-house legal departments focusing on cloud infrastructure and large-scale energy transactions.
• Deep expertise in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and commercial energy contracts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Power Act, PURPA, PUHCA, and FERC/PUC administrative procedures.
• Strong background in electric infrastructure development and utility regulation related to hyperscale data centers.
• Must meet U.S. Government export control requirements (U.S. Person).

Nice to have

• Experience with energy transactions and regulatory frameworks in EMEA, APAC, LatAm, or Canada.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as advanced nuclear and geothermal energy.
