TL;DR

Finance Manager (Finance): Supporting general finance and accounting, controller, and business administration activities with an accent on German accounting compliance and payroll. Focus on transitioning to a new ERP system and establishing improved internal controlling and operation solutions.

Location: Fully Remote; Must be based in Namibia

Salary: NAD 550,000 – 600,000 per year gross

What you will do

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and transaction tracking.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and internal tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with German accounting and tax requirements in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Manage monthly payroll across direct entity and employer of record services.
  • Create and maintain project- and department-specific budgets.
  • Handle cash flow management, financial planning (FP&A), and risk management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, and/or bookkeeping.
  • Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with German tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and accounting software (e.g., Odoo, Datev).
  • Ability to manage financial records accurately in a remote work environment.

Nice to have

  • Interest in open-source collaboration or the energy sector.
  • Prior experience in a startup or a fully-remote, distributed team.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded or non-profit environments.
  • Experience processing payroll and invoices for employers of record.
