Associate General Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal advisor and lead legal partner for all Mexico operations.
• Own the legal strategy and provide support for the full lifecycle of product launches and commercial initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams to evaluate legal risk and enable scalable business solutions.
• Manage relationships and interactions with Mexican regulators including CNBV, Banco de México, and CONDUSEF.
• Draft and negotiate a broad range of legal agreements, including commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and customer terms.
• Lead the local legal team and coordinate external counsel to ensure high-quality, business-oriented support.

Requirements

• Law degree and active license to practice in Mexico.
• 8+ years of legal experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or banking.
• Deep expertise in Mexican financial regulation and supervisory frameworks.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
• Proven experience advising on the regulatory implications of product design and operational changes.
• High ownership mindset and comfort operating as the primary legal point of contact for a country-level operation.
