What you will do
- Define and maintain the enterprise SOX business process control framework, including scoping and risk assessment.
- Lead the annual SOX risk assessment and design key manual, automated, and IT-dependent controls.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Engineering to embed controls into end-to-end processes such as revenue and digital asset flows.
- Serve as the primary business controls liaison for Internal and External Auditors during testing and walkthroughs.
- Identify opportunities to automate controls and implement data-driven monitoring to reduce operational friction.
- Provide risk and remediation updates to senior leadership (CFO, CAO) and develop a high-performing SOX team.
Requirements
- 13+ years of experience in SOX, internal controls, internal audit, or risk management within public company environments.
- Deep technical knowledge of SOX 404, PCAOB standards, and the COSO framework.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, or CRMA.
- Experience in high-growth technology-driven companies, financial services, or the crypto/fintech sector.
- Must be based in Canada.
- Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows.
