TL;DR

Team Leader – 2nd Shift Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support (Energy and Emission Laboratories): Leading day-to-day operations of EMT team supporting laboratories by specifying, sourcing, engineering, integrating, and commissioning test equipment with an accent on developing robust maintenance models. Focus on managing team workloads, stakeholder communication, risk escalation, and alignment with product development forecasts.

Location: Onsite in Milford, Michigan on a full-time basis. No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefits.

What you will do

  • Serve as primary contact for stakeholders on EMT activities, operations, and planning.
  • Lead team activities by estimating timelines, prioritizing tasks, balancing workloads, and expanding capabilities.
  • Monitor work, provide status updates, identify and resolve risks.
  • Lead projects to specify, source, engineer, integrate, install, and commission test equipment safely.
  • Act as technical expert for teams and suppliers on maintenance and support.
  • Develop and sustain preventative maintenance systems and plans.
  • Track emerging test technologies and align with product development plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in engineering maintenance, technical support, or test equipment operations in lab/industrial environment
  • 2+ years hands-on with Lean tools and continuous improvement (e.g., GM Manufacturing System)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong interest in vehicle development and validation
  • Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
  • Hands-on experience with lab/test equipment for vehicle, powertrain, emissions, or components
  • Experience with test automation systems and controls
  • Collaboration with suppliers and contractors from spec to commissioning
  • Effective multidisciplinary teamwork

Nice to have

  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in Emissions or Energy Systems labs, including Milford Emissions ISG
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • Experience developing equipment maintenance processes
  • Knowledge of product development, validation, and release processes
  • ISO 17025/9001 accredited environment experience
