TL;DR

Head of Developer Productivity (AI): Lead the strategy, execution, and improvement of AI-powered tools, workflows, and systems to enhance engineer productivity across the SDLC with an accent on AI agents, engineering metrics, and internal developer platform. Focus on scaling AI ecosystem for code generation, planning, review, and remediation, driving DORA metrics, and managing multi-squad teams.

What you will do

• Own AI strategy and roadmap for developer workflows including autonomous code generation, AI planning, code review, test generation, vulnerability remediation, and incident investigation.
• Act as product owner for AI agent ecosystem, defining use cases, metrics, adoption targets, and integrations with tools like issue trackers, CI/CD, IDEs, and Internal Developer Platform.
• Build and operate unified engineering metrics platform for DORA metrics (Lead Time for Changes, Deployment Frequency, Change Failure Rate, MTTR) and AI adoption metrics with self-service dashboards.
• Lead developer experience strategy using SPACE surveys, evolve Internal Developer Platform for self-service actions, and oversee frameworks, libraries, and CI/CD tooling.
• Manage and grow ~15-engineer Developer Productivity team, drive AI adoption through enablement programs, and partner with AI, Platform, SRE, Security, and Product teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Software/Platform Engineering/DevEx with 4+ years in management/leadership for Developer Productivity or Internal Developer Platform teams
• Strong people-management experience building and scaling high-performing teams with autonomy.
• Demonstrated leadership in shipping AI developer tools like coding agents, LLM code-review, or planning assistants with measurable impact.
• Deep knowledge of DORA metrics and engineering productivity measurement; experience with metrics platforms a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in global organization.

Nice to have

• Experience building autonomous AI software-engineering agents with human-in-the-loop and safety guardrails.
• LLM orchestration for dev tools: prompt engineering, agent planning, tool-use, MCP integrations.
• AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, GitOps, Argo CD, advanced CI/CD.
• Public speaking or evangelism on DevEx or AI-first engineering.
