What you will do

• Lead with 50% hands-on coding in Node.js and 50% team leadership, designing scalable applications and providing technical guidance.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences using Agile methodologies.
• Define technical strategies, mitigate risks, and represent the team in cross-functional discussions.
• Participate in hiring, manage performance, and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Location restriction: Must be based in specified EMEA/European countries (Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, etc.)
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP principles, designing maintainable scalable systems, clean testable code.
• Strong SQL skills: complex queries, data structures, query performance.
• Experience with APIs and distributed systems: debugging integrations, data flow.
• Strong problem-solving: root cause analysis across code, data, systems.
• Production environment experience: handling incidents, debugging, escalations.

Nice to have

• Cross-browser and cross-platform development experience.
• Node.js and JavaScript knowledge.
