Product Owner (Fintech)

TL;DR

Product Owner (Fintech): Owning end-to-end business analysis of product backlog items for Defined Contribution pensions solutions with an accent on requirements engineering, data analysis, and process improvement. Focus on stakeholder alignment, solution development, and driving tangible enhancements to product capability and customer experience.

Location: Leeds | Hybrid - 2 days in the office per week

Salary: Up to £60k + 9% bonus, 12% pension

What you will do

• Perform requirements engineering: elicit, analyse, validate, and document functional and non-functional requirements
• Conduct data analysis to support decision-making, problem identification, and benefits realisation
• Map as-is and to-be processes and drive process re-design
• Manage stakeholders as key liaison between internal and external parties
• Support cross-functional teams in designing and implementing solutions
• Create documentation including release notes, training materials, and business readiness
• Assist with backlog prioritisation and product management framework
• Help resolve critical system defects through root cause analysis

Requirements

• 3+ years as Product Owner or Business Analyst
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex functions
• Ability to challenge status quo, propose improvements, and gain stakeholder buy-in
• Hands-on experience with agile methodologies
• Experience working with third-party suppliers

Nice to have

• Experience with B2C websites or mobile apps (wireframing)
• SSO, system integration, or API analysis
• Data modelling and SQL querying
• Pensions or financial services background
• Azure DevOps familiarity
• BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or Lean Six Sigma
