Senior Safety Design Software Architect

TL;DR

Senior Safety Design Software Architect: Develop solution context and intent at software level for vehicle safety systems with an accent on defining safety requirements, analyzing trade-offs, and ensuring ASIL compliance. Focus on performing software safety analyses, architecting scalable subsystems and interfaces, and validating adherence to system safety requirements.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan – report to office three times per week minimum

What you will do

• Define safety requirements at software architecture level, including analyses, calibrations, and validation of system adherence.
• Develop high-level safety designs, explore alternatives, architect subsystems, interfaces, and derive lower-level requirements.
• Provide technical guidance in ART planning, refine backlogs for safety-critical features, and develop architectural runway for SW safety strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, lead safety investigations, and mitigate risks in control systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in job-related area
• Proficient in C, C++ programming
• ISO26262 Functional Safety experience on safety-critical systems
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle ambiguity, and customer-centric thinking

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience
• Background in Propulsion, Battery, Vehicle Dynamics, Body, Chassis or Thermal control
• Experience with CI/CD
