What you will do

• Design and develop backend systems for ingesting health record data from external sources such as EHRs and third-party health platforms.
• Build and support robust data pipelines to clean, normalize, and structure health record data for reliable downstream consumption.
• Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs and services that expose health record data to internal systems and member-facing features.
• Apply best practices for data privacy, security, and access control when working with sensitive health data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, and engineering teams to unlock new health insights.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable systems.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience building backend systems and APIs in production environments.
• Proficiency with backend technologies such as Java (or similar), relational databases (e.g., Postgres), and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Experience designing data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and validation of structured or semi-structured data.
• Solid understanding of API design principles.
• Exposure to healthcare data standards such as FHIR or CDA.
• Must be prepared to relocate to the Boston, MA office.
