TL;DR

Location: On-site in San Jose, CA. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Salary: $218,000 – $257,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robotic surgical system software using C# (.NET) and C++.
- Oversee the creation of intuitive, responsive, and safety-conscious graphical user interfaces (GUI).
- Establish and enforce best practices for software design, coding standards, and code reviews.
- Partner with TPMs to define project deliverables, timelines, and manage resource allocation.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, identifying skill gaps and proposing solutions.
- Own and oversee software documentation in compliance with medical device regulations and maintain traceability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE with 6+ years of medical device software experience (or Master’s with 4+ years).
- At least 2 years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Strong proficiency in Object Oriented Design and C#/.NET.
- Experience developing GUIs for complex or safety-critical systems.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in regulated environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotic systems, real-time systems, or image-guided surgery platforms.
- Experience with Windows OS.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304).
- Experience in medical device usability engineering.
