TL;DR

Hardware Quality Engineering Specialist (Satellites): Managing all aspects of quality throughout satellite and subsystems development lifecycle with an accent on supplier quality assurance, non-conformance management, and compliance with industry standards. Focus on developing inspection procedures, conducting root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and mitigating risks to ensure manufacturing efficiency and reliability.

On-site in Toronto, Ontario. Relocation packages available for approved roles.

Salary Range: $85,831 - 106,831 CAD

What you will do

  • Maintain quality management practices ensuring compliance throughout satellite subsystem development.
  • Assess suppliers, conduct audits, and establish quality requirements for components.
  • Manage non-conformances, lead investigations, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Develop inspection and testing procedures for components, sub-assemblies, and final systems.
  • Identify risks and create mitigation plans for quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and AIT teams to integrate quality activities.
  • Provide training to embed a culture of quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as Quality Engineer in manufacturing with quality planning, defect detection, and failure management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Experience in quality assurance processes (NCRs, CAPAs, FAI) and hands-on production.
  • Familiarity with complex precision manufacturing components.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Startup experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ECSS or equivalent standards.
  • Quality assurance certification.
  • Experience with PCBAs and mechanical assemblies.
