Facilities Engineer

TL;DR

Facilities Engineer (Manufacturing): Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for building equipment, property maintenance, utility supply, equipment installation, and environmental activities in a vehicle components manufacturing plant with an accent on overseeing contractors, design, construction, and continuous improvement. Focus on interfacing with regulatory agencies, managing scope changes, leading energy conservation, and optimizing facility services.

Onsite in Rochester, New York. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits. Available to work alternative shift schedules, including weekends & holidays.

Salary: $80,700 - $109,400

What you will do

• Provide technical direction to resident Business Partners and outside contractors ensuring safe work practices.
• Oversee design, construction, integration, plant installation, launch, and continuous improvement of facilities equipment and tools.
• Interface with regulatory agencies and municipalities.
• Support maintenance, production, and new program launches from equipment design to production release.
• Bid and establish equipment installation contracts, procure construction management resources, and manage scope changes.
• Lead energy conservation activities, optimize building services, improve equipment uptime, and support plant safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 2 years equivalent experience.
• Available to work alternative shift schedules, including weekends & holidays.

Nice to have

• Facilities Maintenance/Management or equivalent training/experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Facilities Engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Previous supervisory experience in a union environment.
• Strong knowledge of facilities operations, utilities equipment, and central support equipment.
