Assembly ME Engineer

TL;DR

Assembly ME Engineer (Manufacturing): Provide preproduction build support, issue resolution, and launch assistance in assembly plants with an accent on Bill of Materials accuracy, change requests, and continuous process improvement. Focus on resolving cross-plant issues, developing validation plans, cost reduction, and implementing engineering changes for current and new programs.

Location: Onsite full-time in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Requires 50% travel and valid visa and passport. GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.

What you will do

• Support preproduction builds, resolve issues, and maintain Bill of Materials accuracy.
• Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Team and handle Change Requests & Decision Notices.
• Provide launch support in plants, including material shortages and crisis management.
• Track and prioritize problem resolution across PITs and assembly plants.
• Develop validation plans, generate cost reductions, and assist in engineering designs and changes.
• Coordinate with engineering departments, customers, and monitor regulations and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial, Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Advanced English.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to plants if needed.
