Field Application Engineer (Robotics)

TL;DR

Field Application Engineer (Robotics): Supporting pre-sales activities, application development, and technical validation for cobots and AMRs with an accent on identifying automation opportunities and designing technical solutions. Focus on conducting plant assessments, solving complex technical issues through diagnostics, and ensuring successful deployment of robotic systems across LATAM.

Location: Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery activities, including plant assessments and Line Walks, to identify automation opportunities.
• Develop robotic automation concepts and technical solution designs for UR cobots and MiR AMRs.
• Collaborate with distributors and integrators to validate applications and ensure successful deployments.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and diagnostics for application issues via case management systems.
• Partner with service teams to assist in warranty cases, maintenance strategies, and technical escalations.
• Conduct technical workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts during the sales cycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, application engineering, or system integration.
• English proficiency is required.
• Ability to travel extensively across LATAM (approximately 60–80% of the time).
• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and manufacturing processes.

Nice to have

• Experience working specifically with collaborative robots or autonomous mobile robots.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, sensors, vision systems, or PLC integration.
• Portuguese proficiency.
• Experience supporting system integrators, distributors, or automation partners.
