Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Fintech)

Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Marketing): Developing and scaling platform and app experiences for a Fintech rent payment platform with an accent on user onboarding, robust APIs, services, and data pipelines. Focus on designing scalable architectures, optimizing performance with JVM tuning, and measuring impact through data analytics and rapid iterations.

Location: New York, Remote (U.S.), San Francisco; hybrid in NYC/SF/SLC with 2-3 days/week onsite requirements; relocation assistance available for candidates outside these areas.

What you will do

• Create exceptional user and partner experiences to drive engagement and retention.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and analysts to solve onboarding challenges.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs, services, and data pipelines for platform enhancement.
• Implement changes via agile methodology with rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
• Use data and analytics to measure impact and optimize opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience building high-quality mobile and web UIs
• Proficient in Java frameworks: Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, JVM tuning.
• Experience with SOA, REST APIs, message queues, scalable architectures.
• Experience with React Native, React (Hooks, Components, Context, Redux).
• Experience with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB), containerization.

Nice to have

• Experience building/improving user onboarding funnels and experiments for metrics.
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions), git, automation.
• Observability: DataDog; big data: Snowflake; IaC: CDK, Terraform.
• Mentoring juniors, elevating team standards, cross-functional communication.
