Senior Engineer, Investment Technology (AWS/AI)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office

What you will do

• Build and support internal applications, technology platforms, and enterprise services for the Investment Technology domain.
• Translate architectural and business requirements into scalable, secure, developer-friendly solutions.
• Design AWS cloud-based solutions and system integrations using APIs, established integration patterns, and data integration tools.
• Apply DevSecOps practices and mature CI/CD pipelines with tools including Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, and Artifactory.
• Use AI capabilities to streamline software development and promote an AI-first engineering approach.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, infrastructure, and security teams; mentor engineers and support automation and self-service engineering.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience and expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Deep expertise in object-oriented programming with Java.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including EKS, S3, Airflow, IAM, and Lambda.
• Experience with Snowflake, Postgres, Athena, and SQL Server, plus advanced UI development with React or Angular.
• Strong Agile and CI/CD experience, with exposure to JUnit, Selenium, JMeter, UAC, Airflow, and Autosys.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with NLP models, vectorization and embeddings, LangChain, Amazon Bedrock, or OpenAI APIs.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, and Kubectl.
