TL;DR

Full Stack Engineer (Java, React): Modernizing critical mission systems for DHS ICE by translating legacy system behavior into clean, scalable software with an accent on platform-based architecture and backend integration. Focus on analyzing legacy workflows, developing RESTful APIs, and implementing user-facing components on the Palantir platform.

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in the US and work EST hours)

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications for DHS ICE system modernization.
  • Analyze legacy systems and workflows to identify and translate core functionality into modern designs.
  • Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and integration layers connecting legacy environments to modern platforms.
  • Build and enhance user-facing components using modern front-end technologies.
  • Manage the full SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve system behavior.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are strictly required (no sponsorship available).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional full stack software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and React.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases.
  • Ability to navigate and simplify complex, poorly documented enterprise environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with legacy system modernization or transformation efforts.
  • Experience supporting federal or mission-driven environments.
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise data platforms and system integrations.
