Radio Systems Engineer

TL;DR

Radio Systems Engineer (Radio Systems): Providing 2nd line technical support, maintenance, and optimization of national radio networks with an accent on fault resolution and system configuration. Focus on installing and testing radio equipment, performing site surveys, and repairing handheld and rack-mounted hardware.

Location: Onsite in Chippenham, Wiltshire (UK). Must have a full UK Driving License and pre-existing right to work/travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Provide 2nd line technical support and triage for end users and field engineers regarding radio faults.
• Support the development, construction, maintenance, and optimization of radio networks.
• Install, configure, and test radio network equipment and software components.
• Undertake repairs of various handheld and rack-mounted radio equipment.
• Perform site surveys and system maintenance at customer sites.
• Participate in an out-of-hours telephone support rota.

Requirements

• Experience in 2nd Line Radio repair, maintenance, and fault resolution.
• Proficiency in Antenna and PMR installation and decommissioning.
• Experience with Tetra, microwave, and DMR systems, including cell enhancement and repeater systems.
• Good understanding of IP networks/LAN, Microsoft Windows, and Unix-based systems.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Eligibility to obtain SC clearance, including CTC Enhanced Level 2.
