What you will do

• Develop computational procedures (operators) to reliably improve a knowledge state over thousands of iterations.
• Design and test improvement operators that maintain stability over 1000+ iterations.
• Improve LLM understanding by separating inferences from raw evidence and identifying gaps in reasoning.
• Start with shallow refactoring of scientific papers and scale to more complex reasoning tasks.
• Contribute to solving core challenges in AI transparency and scalable reasoning.

Requirements

• Experience with LLMs and strong intuition regarding systematic and verifiable reasoning.
• Strong software engineering background.
• Ability to create novel abstractions that push the frontiers of automated reasoning.
• Must be based in the US (Oakland or remote within US timezones).
