What you will do

• Formulate and execute research projects applying machine learning to medicine, finance, or law.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research leading to publications in top-tier AI venues.
• Design and execute large-scale experiments using modern deep learning frameworks.
• Develop models that bridge AI capabilities with practical constraints in regulated domains.
• Collaborate with research mentors, domain experts, and applied engineering teams.
• Contribute to the research community through open-source releases and academic partnerships.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related STEM field (or expected completion by start date).
• Research experience in machine learning or AI techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• At least one scientific publication in top AI or domain-applied research venues.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience fine-tuning or evaluating LLMs in applied domain settings.
• Familiarity with evaluation challenges such as fairness, explainability, and robustness.
• Experience with RAG, knowledge graphs, or structured reasoning.
• Publications at domain-applied AI venues like CHIL, ML4H, or FinNLP.
