What you will do

• Build and run machine learning experiments to test AI safety and alignment techniques.
• Collaborate with teams on interpretability, fine-tuning, and red teaming efforts.
• Develop tooling to evaluate model robustness and safety interventions.
• Contribute to research papers, blog posts, and presentations.
• Run multi-agent reinforcement learning experiments and design evaluation questions for models.

Requirements

• Must be based in or near the Bay Area with hybrid work (minimum 25% office presence)
• English: B2 level or higher (job posting in English)
• Significant software, machine learning, or research engineering experience.
• Experience contributing to empirical AI research projects and familiarity with AI safety.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to take on tasks beyond job description.

Nice to have

• Experience authoring research papers in machine learning, NLP, or AI safety.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and reinforcement learning.
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters and managing complex codebases.
