Manager, Cloud Engineering (Azure/AWS): Leading the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud solutions across Azure and AWS with an accent on hands-on technical leadership, automation, and team management. Focus on building IaC provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and enforcing security best practices while managing a small team of engineers.

Location: US Remote. Must be United States Citizen and have resided in the United States for 3 of the past 5 years OR worked for the United States overseas in a federal or military capacity OR be a dependent of a federal or military employee serving overseas. Additional LAR certification checks required.

Salary: $130,000-150,000 base annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions across Azure and AWS, including infrastructure design, automation, and production support.
• Govern and maintain SaaS platforms and cloud services, automating provisioning and operations with IaC tools.
• Monitor environments, troubleshoot issues, optimize resource utilization for cost efficiency and performance.
• Lead, coach, and manage a small team of cloud engineers, providing mentorship and setting technical direction.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and engineering teams to enforce cloud standards, security policies, and seamless integrations.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and act as escalation point for complex incidents.

Requirements

• US Citizen with 3/5 years US residency or equivalent federal/military experience; additional background checks and LAR certification required.
• 7+ years in Agile, DevOps environments with hands-on engineering and operational automation focus.
• Prior hands-on technical leadership managing small teams while staying involved in engineering work.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS in enterprise production.
• Expertise in 2+ languages: C#, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node.js, TypeScript, Python.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash; IaC with Bicep, ARM, Terraform, Azure/AWS CLIs/SDKs; CI/CD with Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Experience with core Azure/AWS services: Container Apps, Storage, VNet/NSGs, App Gateway, RBAC/Entra ID, Functions, Policy, Key Vault; ECS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, ELB, EC2, Lambda.

• Azure security/governance: Management Groups, Landing Zones, Defender for Cloud, Update Management, Automation, Azure Arc.
• Designing highly available, resilient, secure cloud architectures in Azure/AWS.
