Senior Software Engineer (Monetization)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript): Building and scaling core monetization and billing platforms with an accent on payment systems, revenue recognition, and config-driven architecture. Location: Onsite in San Francisco, CA (in-office 5 days a week)

Salary: $200,000 - $240,000

What you will do

• Develop core monetization and billing platforms focusing on offer management, packaging, and pricing.
• Lead the development of internal services to optimize APIs and improve system reliability and scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PMs, Designers, Security) to integrate products with the packaging model.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and advocate for software engineering best practices.
• Architect scalable solutions and share knowledge across squads.
• Build internal tooling to streamline product development and maintenance.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing complex distributed software applications at scale.
• Proficiency in Javascript, Node.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and Redis.
• Strong knowledge of database performance, schema design, and indexing.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools (Cloudwatch, Newrelic).
• Proven track record of building services from scratch and leading complex projects.
• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area for onsite work.

• Understanding of monetization platforms (Payments, Subscriptions, Taxes, Revenue recognition).
