TL;DR

Structural Engineer (Nuclear): Managing and performing technical work for energy and utility projects, specifically for nuclear power plants, with an accent on advanced reactor design and existing systems analysis. Focus on seismic loading scenarios, structural design of concrete and steel, and ensuring compliance with strict safety standards.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the US; US citizenship or lawful permanent residency preferred)

What you will do

  • Manage technical projects for the Energy & Utilities group, specifically within the Nuclear Power sector.
  • Perform design and analysis for concrete and steel structures.
  • Conduct technical work for other sectors including industrial, commercial, and government as needed.
  • Develop and present technical reports and design milestone presentations.
  • Manage project expectations, schedules, and budgets.
  • Travel occasionally (<10%) to client sites for data gathering and meetings.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (emphasis on Structural).
  • Ability to work under 10 CFR Part 810 requirements regarding nuclear technology.
  • Experience with ANSYS software.
  • Proven expertise in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience with analysis and design for seismic loading scenarios.
  • Strong communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with US Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-300-series.
  • Experience with extreme loading scenarios (tornado, blast, missile impact, etc.).
  • Proficiency in STAAD and/or GT STRUDL software, including nonlinear analysis.
